MIDDLE SCHOOL DIRECTOR
JENNY CRETIN
What a privilege it is to walk side-by-side with middle school students and parents in these exciting years of academic, athletic, social, and spiritual development! As Middle School Director, my goal for our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Brentwood Academy is that they each learn, fail, and grow in a setting where they are loved and known while constantly being reminded that they are uniquely made with immeasurable value by our Creator.

MIDDLE SCHOOL
What is it like to be a Brentwood Academy MS student?
The answer can be found on the faces of students engaged in all aspects of student life—learning both inside and outside the classrooms, visiting with friends in the hallways and around the campus, participating in athletic events as a team member or fan, sharing small and large group devotions and Bible study, or enjoying the varied fine arts opportunities.
OPPORTUNITIES AT BA
STUDENT LIFEWe understand that campus life is an important part of every student's life. At Brentwood Academy, we offer many leadership opportunities and extracurricular activities for students. We intentionally build a culture, community, and traditions that connect and enrich our families. |
FINE ARTSIn middle school, the arts are built into Exploratories, but also into yearly elective choices which include band, chorus, drama, art, and speech. Students have the opportunity to pursue the arts outside of the classroom by auditioning for Academy Juniors and the middle school play. |
ATHLETICSBrentwood Academy’s athletic program builds character by teaching the value of committing to a goal, practicing personal discipline, and prioritizing team contribution over individual roles. All students participate in team sports or physical education classes each day as part of BA's mission to nurture and challenge each whole person. |
CHRISTIAN LIFE
The driving purpose of the middle school Christian Life Department is to guide students toward a proper reckoning of our Creator and His call on our lives to serve Him and love others. To help students down that path, we’ve built an experience where students can encounter God’s Word and His heart for them.
CHRISTIAN LIFE
Every morning in their first block classes, students dive into the stories of Scripture. Over the course of the school year, students will read the entire Action Bible; this habit helps fortify and expand their biblical literacy.
Each grade has a unique Bible curriculum designed to help them grow in their faith and better grasp biblical truth: sixth graders dive into The Attributes of God; seventh graders step into The Story of the Bible; and eighth graders study The Story of Jesus.
STUDENT ACADEMIC SUPPORTStudent Academic Support is structured by team members responsible for monitoring the academic progress of each student and promoting effective communication between students, grade chairs, faculty, and parents. The department supports students taking ownership of their academic progress and making appropriate decisions toward their academic goals. Specialized study halls in middle school promote a philosophy of individual responsibility and encourage each student to value and contribute to his or her educational experience. Students develop the skills needed to reach academic and individual goals, become leaders within the school community, and pursue successful and productive lives grounded in Christian values. |
